Tele2 sees GitHub, Unity Engine popular among migrants in Russia

MOSCOW, Jul 18 (PRIME) -- GitHub and Unity Engine, resources for IT specialists and games developers, have been among the services popular with migrants in Russia, which could hint at an inflow of professionals from abroad, a spokesperson for mobile operator Tele2 told PRIME late on Monday.

“One of the few sources of connections left on the stagnating market is the segment of migrants. We analyzed the migrant segment on the basis of big data for our business goals to take into account the requests of this audience when setting services and came to an interesting and surprising conclusion,” the spokesperson said.

“GitHub è Unity Engine, the platforms popular among IT specialists and developers of games, are popular resources among the migrants, which indirectly points to an inflow of highly-qualified specialists from abroad.”

Foreigners more often use the mobile Internet for communication -- such resources account for 53% of the total number of sessions. “At that 34% of the activities are related to content consumption, like video streaming, gaming, and music services, and others, and 13% of the sessions were presented by various service applications and services,” the spokesperson said.
